As the winter chill sets in, URC encourages you to focus on energy sustainability whenever possible!

  • Optimize your home's heating efficiency by sealing drafts and using programmable thermostats.

  • If using a portable heater, choose a thermostatically controlled heater when possible, as they avoid the energy waste of overheating a room. Remember to unplug electronics when idle!

  • Prioritize mindful habits, like bundling up indoors and keeping your thermostat set to 68°F - 70°F when you’re awake.

  • In the spirit of the season, remember to switch off holiday lights when they aren't in use!

Let's make winter a season of thoughtfulness, and commit to a more sustainable future, starting in our homes! For more tips, check out https://www.energy.gov/energysaver/fall-and-winter-energy-saving-tips.
